As I walk into the Vivo store in Atlanta I look around and all I see is color. My kinda place already! I then, start to look more closely at the pieces. Each piece has its own story to tell. The fabulous woman helping me smiled and complemented me as I tried on pieces, did my own fashion show with my friend. It was the tail end of summer so we were trying on dresses and shorts, but then I saw the trench. I just about died. I quickly looked for my size, snatched it up, and rushed to the dressing room to try it on. It. Fit. To. Perfection. The sales clerk said so, so it must have been true!
She then told me about Vivo’s mission. And that is to create opportunities in Africa via fashion. For instance, the coat I had fallen in love with was made by a woman in Kenya! The clothes themselves are as I mentioned above. Colorful and full of life. The quality is there and the price you can’t beat. My trench fit like a glove, and cost $89.00. My friend and I spent a good hour there, just trying on clothes and talking to the clerks. It was heavenly. The vibe of the boutique was fun and lighthearted, just like the clothes.
The sales clerks were happy and passionate about what they were selling, and the cause behind it. Not only did it support African American women, but black woman all around the world. I ended up wearing the coat home on the plane with my grey leggings, black sneakers, and neon green crop top, but that’s the beauty of these clothes. One can dress them up or down! I wore it to church that weekend. Vivo’s mission is to see their customers through hard times with clothes of great quality, that fit, and that don’t hurt the wallet. I can attest to the fact that they deliver on all
